At the invitation of Prof. Danielle Bourcier, Honourary Research Director at the Centre for Administrative and Political Sciences Research (CERSA–CNRS/Université Panthéon-Assas), three master's students from the Internationalised Legal Talent Experimental Programme at the College of Comparative Law, year 2022 entering student Fu Yueyue, year 2022 entering students Mo Qingwen and Liu Honglin, who are currently participating in an academic exchange at Université Panthéon-Assas (Paris II), delivered a thematic presentation at a seminar hosted by the university in Paris on 27 May.

They presented on the topic ‘Post-Legislative Review in China: The Filing and Review System’, offering French scholars and doctoral researchers insights into the distinctive theoretical foundations and institutional features of China’s rule-of-law practices.

Mo began by outlining the basic structure of the filing and review system in China, providing a systematic explanation of its objects, responsible institutions, and applicable standards. Fu followed with an in-depth analysis of the procedural stages, illustrating the system’s operational logic and practical significance through typical case studies. Liu complemented the presentation by introducing the geographical and administrative context underpinning the implementation of the system, thereby enriching the audiences’ understanding of the broader institutional framework.

The seminar also featured a response by Xue Qinyuan, a doctoral candidate specialising in administrative law at Paris II, who offered additional insights from the perspective of French administrative law. His contribution helped contextualise the comparative aspects of both systems, fostering mutual academic understanding.

This presentation not only enhanced the French academic community’s comprehension of China’s legal institutions but also provided a valuable platform for students from the College of Comparative Law to showcase their research and engage in international academic exchange. It marked a further step in the College’s ongoing commitment to cultivating globally minded legal professionals equipped for cross-border legal dialogue.
