The College held a presentation ceremony for the Xingquan Scholarship on Haidian Campus on the morning of 13 June.
Rotating Director of Beijing Xingquan Law Firm Li Yuanyuan and its solicitor Du Qiuyu attended the event alongside Associate Dean of the College Xie Libin, Deputy Chair of the College Council Tian Zhaojun, Student Tutor Yang Mingquan and student recipients. The ceremony was chaired by Yang Mingquan.

Xie Libin outlined the origins and selection process of the scholarship. Established in 2023 by Beijing Xingquan Law Firm on behalf of its clients, the fund is dedicated to supporting students of the College of Comparative Law. Over two award cycles, it has benefited 22 outstanding students. Xie emphasised that, rather than merely adding to existing honours, the scholarship provides timely assistance that can profoundly unlock the potential of students facing financial hardship.
Li Yuanyuan and Du Qiuyu presented certificates to the scholarship recipients, who expressed their gratitude and resolve to give back to society, vowing to pass on the warmth embodied by the Xingquan Scholarship through their future endeavours.

Speaking on behalf of the firm, Li noted that the scholarship was founded as an act of goodwill by Xingquan clients who prevailed in reputation-rights cases; its moral significance, she said, far exceeds its monetary value. She encouraged students to continue striving for academic excellence and expressed the firm’s hope that, drawing on CUPL’s distinguished platform, they would one day contribute legal expertise to combating online abuse and purifying the digital environment, becoming pillars of China’s rule of law.
Tian Zhaojun offered further thanks to Xingquan’s clients and commended the award winners for their efforts. He affirmed that the College’s faculty will work together to ensure this goodwill translates into concrete support, empowering even more students to succeed.
